Whimsical Wednesday brings us to Paris!

Posted by on November 16, 2011

For those that know me, you all know that I have a dream of going to Paris one day.  The thing that completely scares me is not knowing the language and being lost in a city that is so vast and big!

But, the thing I love about Paris is the architecture, the history, and the art culture.  So, lets bring a taste of Paris to all of you.

The Sacre Coeur, Montemarte monument is what I look forward to seeing the most when I visit Paris.  A gorgeous building with tons of grass sitting around it, and the stairs.  This gorgeous monument looks across the city of Paris and gives you a fabulous view.  To me, this is what beauty is all about!

The Notre Dame Cathedral.  Just the amazing architecture of this building is enough for me.  The beauty, the Gorgyles, and the Stained Glass inside has me captivated.  Of course, there’s history!

The Louvre Museum, a day fully spent here looking at all the art, all the history, and all the beauty of the past.  I could not go to Paris without getting a glimpse of the Mona Lisa!

As a photographer I just have to get a picture of the Arc de Triomphe.  And I won’t be able to help and look down the street to see how people drive around one of the biggest roundabouts I know of.  Every time I see pictures of that intersection I just wonder, “how?”

I’m going to be honest here.  Yes, the Eiffel Tower is iconic to Paris, however, to me, it is not my priority when going to Paris.  The fact is, you see so many images of the Eiffel Tower when you’re looking for Paris items, you see the image all the time.  I want to see things that set Paris apart from everything else.  Yes, as a photographer, I will grab pictures of the Eiffel Tower, but I won’t ride to the top to look out at the city, I wont’ stand in line to get up there.  It is a beautiful icon, but I just want us all to remember there’s more to Paris than just the Eiffel Tower.

Thanks for sharing my dream with me =)
