Rush Bowls Brings me Morning Energy and Cheer!

Posted by on May 31, 2012

When I first found out about Rush Bowls, I couldn’t wait to try them.  What exactly are they?  Think frozen fruit, and granola, all in a wholesome, frozen bowl that easily thaws out for your pleasure.   They are a combination of different fruits and other healthy ingredients added with a topping of granola.

These bowls are perfect for moms on the go, busy women on the go, and even children on the go.  The best part is how nutrious they are for you.  How do you thaw them out?  There’s a variety of ways.  1) Thaw naturally.  Take out of the freezer, thaw out, and about 1 1/2 to 2 hours it’ll be ready to eat.  2) Microwave for about 20 to 25 seconds, blend, and away you go.  3) Take out of the freezer the night before.  With this strategy the hard part is remembering 😉

They come in 5 varieties which are:

Power Bowl~ blueberry, raspberry, banana, oats, whey or soy protein, fat-free frozen yogurt, vanilla soy or fat-free milk. topped with organic hemp granola & honey

Yoga Bowl~ mango, pineapple, banana, green tea, fat-free frozen yogurt, vanilla soy or fat-free milk. Topped with organic hemp granola & honey.

Oasis Bowl~ A pure blend of peach juice, coconut milk, pineapples, and mangos.

Acai Beach Bowl~acai, mango, banana, pure guava juice. Topped with organic hemp granola & honey.

Gluten Free Beach Bowl~100% pure guava juice, acai berries, mango, banana.  Packed with a crunchy gluten-free topping.

These bowls can be found in Whole Food Markets and they retail at about 4.99 each.  Right now they’re currently found in Colorado, Arizona, Southern California, Nevada, and Hawaii.

I had the opportunity to try all 5 of these varieties.  My absolute favorite was the Yoga Bowl, the blend of flavors in this combination just worked for me especially with the mango and pineapple (always my favorites!) A close second for me was the Oasis bowl!

I first ran across Rush Bowls at #expowest.  They were widely interactive on twitter, and when I ran across their booth their team walked me through all the varieties, and I got to sample each one.  I have to say they had one of the nicest teams around at the expo.  They were approachable, friendly, and informative of their products.

When thawing out the old fashioned way make sure to have a towel underneath the bowl because it can get a bit messy (trust me on this!) And like I said earlier taking them out the night before is a great idea as long as you remember to grab it on your way out in the morning.

These were convenient for me, as I am the type of person that wakes up, gets ready, and am out the door in a matter of minutes forgetting all about breakfast.  With these, I could take them with me, have a quick breakfast in my car before I got going for the day.  And the best part is, it’s the combination of all my favorites: fruit and granola.

Disclosure: Rush Bowls sent me a sample of all 5 varieties.  All opinions of this product are my own.

Rush Bowls was founded in Boulder, Colorado on “The Hill” nearby CU campus.  With hungry college students rushing to and from classes, and stopping by for their smoothies.  Rush eventually came out with their frozen grab and go bowls, which today, are now Rush Bowls which brings convenience to a whole new level.
