It’s Frozen Foods Month at Smart and Final!

Posted by on March 17, 2013

I use to be  Dairy/Frozen foods manager.  Every March was the month to honor Frozen Foods.  There were lots of great deals and specials and this was the time of the year I’d always stock up on my frozen food items.  Do you realize this is the month the very first frozen foods product was made, and look what has happened since?

Just this past week I headed over to Smart and Final to take advantage of their big Frozen Food month deal they have going on right now.  If you shop in a Smart and Final and spend 40 dollars on Frozen Food items you will receive a 10 dollar off coupon to use towards your next future purchase.  You have until March 26th to take advantage of this deal.  They made things super easy by labeling which products were about of the deal as you shopped, and also had a flyer showcasing all of the participating products.

We, of course, stocked up on some of our favorites:

All the brands we love.  When I saw the fudge pops I couldn’t resist.  It’s been so long since I had some.

See the coupon does exist! And I have until April 9th to use it which is more than enough time to go out for groceries again.

That evening I went home to begin creating one of my favorite frozen food meals: Tater Tot Hotdish:

Ingredients needed:

1 Bag of Tater Tots

1 Large Bag of Mixed Vegetables

1 Large can of Cream of Mushroom Soup

You can add one pound of hamburger or sausage if you choose.

Directions:

In a casserole dish spread out the can of cream of mushroom soup.  Then layer with the mixed vegetables then add the final layer of tater tots.  Cook in the oven at 350 for 25 minutes.

Super easy dish to create, and one of my favorite MN dishes I love to make and eat from time to time.

We then decided to have fun with ice cream by making some ice cream sundaes, or for my love, just a Nestle Drumstick:

And here’s us enjoying our fun treats:
