My Need for Experiencing “Something New.”

Posted by on April 6, 2013

During the Ulitmate Blog Party I ran into an old bloggy friend, “Create With Joy.”

Every Friday, she runs a great link up entitled, “Friendship Friday.”  She reminded me of this great link up.  Link ups are always a GREAT way to meet new bloggers you may not have met before so I thought I’d give it a whirl.

Each week she chooses a new topic for you to write about: this week’s topic was “something new.”

And that’s when I realized my world’s were colliding.  One of the major reasons I love going on so many explorations around town is because I’m kind of an adrenaline junkie for trying out new things.  I get such a rush.  It’s like the child in me still gets those big eyes, and that excitement fills up inside, and frankly, I’m addicted to that feeling. Ha.  You learned something new about me ;0

But, she wanted to know when was the last time I tried something new so I thought it would be neat to make a list of things I’ve tried “new” since moving out to LA.

*Panna Cotta

*Going to San Francisco

*Going to San Diego

*Going to Temecula

*Knott’s Berry Farm

*Griffith Observatory

*Hollywood Blvd

*The Getty

You get it, since moving to a new place, it has lifted my adventurous side, and I feel as if I’m always trying something new and feeding my addiction.

The next few things on my list include:

Attending a Food Blogger Conference

Attending a Photo Show

Attending a Wine Carriage Ride one night

Going to Catalina Island

And much, much more.   My mind is always thinking of “what’s the next new experience I can try.”

Hope you enjoyed.

I’m so glad you joined us this week! I’m also a transplant and I love reading about your adventures – I totally relate to your experiences and I love seeing the adventures you’ve taken so far (many of which are still on my list!)

Have a fabulous weekend and don’t be a stranger (I host Inspire Me Monday & Wordless Wednesday as well!)

It was meant to be Joy =) Especially with that topic, that is like how I encompass my whole life. Where are you a transplant from, may I ask? I definitely thinking moving some place new brings out the adventurous side because you’re kind of force to go outside your comfort zone.

Have you visited the FASHION DISTRICT downtown yet? Or how about exploring through the Asian Malls and Markets in Koreatown?! I always seek adventure EVERY day in LA, so much to do, NEVER a dull moment 🙂 You should try going to a TV SHOW taping or go on a STUDIO TOUR if you’re into that!

Wow, you have really had the opportunity to experience a lot since you have moved to LA. That is amazing, and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about all of your adventures so far and know you are going to continue doing so much more!

    • Jamie

When I came out here I came with the intention of embracing life. I learned from the past so I changed that 🙂 and because of that wonderful new experiences have come my way *blessed*

I’ve lived in Vegas for going on 7 years now and I’ve become bored with the city. I think part of that has resulted in my struggles with writing (even though I think it also has to do with a lack of discipline and being stuck in the past). I like adventures and going to new places. I like doing things. Without the money to do so much of it though it kind of sucks. I’m looking for ways to get out more and write more. I just wish I had someone to join me! Haha.

Glad you have had so much fun exploring parts of California. I grew up an hour south of San Francisco. California is such an incredible place.

    • Jamie

I can relate to the money part, definitely. Lucky for me I drive around for work during the day so I spot new things to try out and see and do.

That’s the awesome part about being a photographer though. You don’t have to have the money, you can just go, take your camera and shoot. And you totally know that =)

But I get ya, you do get bored of the city. I was starting to feel that way about LA just a few months ago… and was kind of in a funk, but finally found a new focus which gave me my energy back.

  10. Modern Gypsy

WOW! You’ve had some wonderful new experiences! And when you say snails, do you mean tasting them? Brave girl!

A wine carriage ride?! Oh please post about that when you go! I think LA is the perfect place to try new things because there is always some new fad or opportunity to try. I don’t think you could ever get bored.
