Visiting Home: Minnesota

Posted by on June 14, 2013

This week I’ve been back home to Minnesota.  Two of my younger sisters just graduated high school so I made it back home for their graduations.

And then, of course, to see a bit of the town, and family.  Here’s a few of the pictures:

Last Saturday my mom and I visited my grandpa, and he lives pretty close to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden so we took a walk over there and had a little bit of fun together.  It was my first photo walk with my mom.

On Monday I stopped by the Mall of America to check out the amusement park and to take pictures to see how the rides have changed over the years.  The amusement park use to be called Camp Snoopy, but has changed names to Nickelodeon University so a lot of the rides have changed since.

And on Tuesday my mom and I explored around in my favorite Minnesota Town: Stillwater.

And then on Wednesday I met my brother up in Minneapolis to take in a game of the Minnesota Twins at Target Field:

I parked my car at the Mall of America then took the lightrail into Minneapolis.  It drops us off right next to Target Field.

Do you ever notice when you come back home after years of being away you’re on alert for the things that have changed around you?  Looking for new businesses coming to new buildings, etc?

I was also kind of surprised to know that I was able to pick up the roads as if I’d never left.  One thing I truly appreciate about Minnesota more than anything now is all their greenery.  The Green grass, the trees, very beautiful.

And of course, driving on their roads.  It’s just not stressful like it is in Los Angeles 😉

Definitely felt good to be around family and to just be on vacation away from everything.  Very relaxing.
