Staying at the Hyatt Regency Orange County

Posted by on February 20, 2014

Disclosure: I paid for my stay at this Hotel, but because of their rockin’ service and my love of travel I am writing this.

There’s something about a hotel that can either make your vacation or completely break it.  It begins the minute you step inside the door and are greeted by the hotel staff upon check in.

Right away, upon first step into the Hyatt Regency Orange County I knew we were in for a great stay.  From water being laid out right before the check in line to the friendliness of the staff as I checked in to the two restaurants located right inside the hotel: Tusca, which was a more fancier option.  You could sit underneath these bubble lights.  They also had a morning buffet breakfast option available for 21.95.  The other option was The OC Brewhouse.  If you love good drinks or a good burger, this makes for a great option.

And then the hotel rooms:

Upon check-in we were given a room on the 17th floor.  This is the very top floor of the hotel.  Every morning I loved looking out the hotel room to see this view:

But one of the best things about the hotel room were how comfortable the beds were including the comforters and also the pillows.  I am a huge pillow girl, and I’ve stayed at a variety of hotel rooms where the beds have been comfortable as can be, but lacked on the pillow front.  This is not the case at the Hyatt Regency Orange County.  I wanted to take those pillows home with me.

And speaking of that I asked the question of what pillows they utilized and I found out that all bedding utilized at the Hyatt can be purchased for home use.  So for 75 dollars I could buy a pillow that was at that Hotel.  *Gift ideas: hint, hint.*

But, as a person that is a writer, a lover of travel, and a big social media user, the thing that truly made my hotel stay a bit more memorable was in how social media active the Hyatt was on twitter and instagram.  They were on it.  From the moment I first mentioned staying there during the conference the HyattConcierge tweeted at me saying they’re there to help with my stay in anyway possible.

And during the conference there were prime examples in how they truly meant that.  Every day they switched out the water near the check in stations with different fruit.  A friend of mine, Jaime from Polka Dots on Parade asked for Strawberry and Pineapple water.  They responded to her, but not only that, the next morning, guess what water was there?  They then asked what water we would want the following day?

In another room, there weren’t enough power outlets, so someone from the hotel staff ran two more power strips up to their room. They were on top of it, and to me, in this day and age, that is amazing customer service.

After this weekend I have become a huge fan of the Hyatt, and will be staying at a Hyatt hotel when I attend BlogHer this July.

The Hyatt Regency Orange County is located in Garden Grove, but has shuttles that run to Disneyland every half hour up to 30 minutes before the park closes.  Public transportation also comes by the Hyatt, and for just 4 dollars, you can ride the ART bus all day, every day making it convenient during your stay in Anaheim.
