Starting a Fire

Recently my s.o. (mngirlinla.com) asked if I would like to review a product she received. I was more than a little intrigued. I have been backpacking and camping off and on over the last 30+ years and my s.o. thought I would be a more experienced in the subject and qualified to review the product than herself. I accepted her offer and started to dig into “supply depot’s 72hour emergency kit”.

This is a great kit, and the quality of food is such that I would not think twice about grabbing it for a backpacking or camping trip. Having lived of m.r.e.’s (modern army rations) rations in the military, I can assure you this is thrive food and more than just calories for survival. There is a misconception that survival has to be miserable, but I would contend that when even moderately prepared it doesn’t have to be that way. If you don’t want to spend hours upon hours of your already busy life running around several stores and researching on-line what is good and not so good, so you can put together a personal 72hr kit of your own, then this is the kit for you and anyone you love.

Have a kid in college? Make sure they have at least one of these readily available (remember 1 per person per 72hrs). In this day and age, we have insurance for our cars, our homes, our health, and even insurance in the event we are no longer living to take care of our families, so why on earth would you not have some survival insurance, in the event of a natural disaster or some level of societal breakdown. This is not just insurance for your body, but for your own peace of mind.

Don’t be running around frantic on the streets trying to procure supplies at the last minute when everyone else is, when you can be home with those you love with a full stomach and a clear head to facing whatever challenges you may be confronted with. These convenient buckets are light and compact and easily stored in a closet, pantry, car trunk (a smart move), or repackaged in a backpack. You can also buy just the high quality, long term storable (20 years!) food without all the accesories, for those who already have cooking and other survival gear at the ready. http://foodsupplydepot.com/shop.html you may not be able to make the world a safe enough place for you and your family, but you sure as check can be ready many of the most severe and unexpected dangers that may come your way.
