For me, I love when companies give back. It only makes me want to support them more. I first heard about TOMS shoes a little over a year ago, and I loved the concept then.
Just in time for Back to School, TOMS has made a commitment that by the end of 2014 they are committing to donating over 1 Million Shoes to Children in Need in the United States. That makes giving to over 60 countries across the world.
35 States will be included in this program along with 3 states to be apart of their “Gift of Sight” program.
Teaming up with organizations such as Save the Children and Helen Keller International, TOMS is able to bring their giving program home.
In 2006, American Traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every shoe purchased with a new pair of shoes for a child in need. One for One.
Curious about the kind of shoes TOMS Donates? Well, check out the three options below. Please note: These Shoes are just the shoes they donate with their giving program and are not available for purchase:
Three Options from a simple black canvas to colored canvas options, and this one makes me happy, for the colder region climates, a boot to protect those feet. Coming from a cold climate myself I know how important those boots can be.
For more information please visit TOMS.Com and watch the video below.
I am committing to purchasing my first pair of TOMS shoes to help them reach their goal, will you? Their goal of donating 1 Million Shoes by the end of 2014.
