Often times, I will sit back and observe the world around me. I will watch as people hustle and bustle through their lives. As people speed past in their cars, or lurch in front of others because they just can’t wait for a single minute or two.
I will watch as people yell at others in the Customer Service field because something didn’t go according to plan, or I will watch as people begin to fidget the more and more they have to wait in line.
Humans have no patience. I have decided this. Somehow, somewhere, down the line, all rules of patience have been thrown out the window.
Is it because we’re trying to do too much? Or perhaps it’s because there’s just not enough time in the day, or perhaps it’s because work is being piled up on us. Or perhaps it’s because we’re incapable of handling stress.
What happens if we just stop to smell the roses? What happens if we just take a deep breath, and just sit back and observe our surroundings. What happens if we just take the time to let others go in front of us in line, or take the time to let another car go in front of us. What happens then?
Patience.
We all need more of it. We all need to just slow down, and take it a step at a time. There’s no need to rush, things will happen when they happen.
A few quotes to get you through your day:
“He that can have Patience, can have what he will” -Benjamin Franklin
“The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it.” -Arnold Glasgow
