A Beautiful Sunset and more

Posted by on January 15, 2012

Friday, on my way home from work I stopped at the Redondo Beach farmer’s market then stopped by my favorite coffee shop, The Coffee Cartel.  While there I scanned my newsfeed and discovered that whales were seen off the coast of Palos Verdes.  It had been awhile since I watched a sunset, so I hopped in my car and drove to the Whale Watch Center.  While there, I saw my first whales migrate in the ocean.  It was a beautiful scene, and one I will truly treasure for a long time.

On Saturday I woke up and drove myself out to Long Beach to attend the LA Travel and Adventure show.  There I grabbed as much information as I could about the sites throughout California, but also around the Western Hemisphere of the globe and some other countries.  I also got to listen to Andrew Zimmern from Bizarre Foods on the travel channel speak.

That’s him, believe it or not as he was showing us how to prepare Gooey Duck (?)  He had some fun stories to share with us including how the night before at his pop up dinner he served a dessert with the added component of pigs blood without telling his food guests about it 😉   BTW:  He resides in Minnesota, so I am becoming a HUGE HUGE fan of his.

Afterwards, I drove back home, picked up my love, and we went back to the Whale Watch center for round 2 of trying to find whales.  This time around, I got to witness a whale shoot up some water.  I absolutely loved that moment.  In the process, I got to capture some sunset photos too.

It was truly a wonderful weekend.
