#Jetset Social!

Posted by on February 28, 2012

I love travel, and it would truly be a dream job of mine to get paid to travel while writing =) I always wondered how people got into the industry, and even more, love hearing the stories of others.

This past Sunday I had the opportunity to attend such an event.  The event called Jetset Social was hosted by Jetset Extra.  Jetset Extra is a website that offers videos from “it” insiders about travel secrets on shopping, dining, fashion, the arts and entertainment.  Literally, videos that come from those that are living, socializing and making the most our of their travels.

This event encompassed some hip travel writers and video journalists in the field sharing their insights on travel writing, and the importance of the internet and social media.

Lee Abbamonte from leeabbamonte.com.  He was the youngest traveler to TRAVEL to all countries around the world!!!  Follow him on twitter @leeabbamonte  He’s new to twitter =)

Johnny Jet from johnnyjet.com.  One of the first internet travel blogs that started in 1995!

Stacy Dreyfus from Orchid Resort and Escapes.  A top Sales associate within the hotel industry giving tips and pointers about the hotel industry.

James Densmore, The Celebrity “go to” travel guy talking about the travel industry when dealing with celebrities, and the service he provides!

And Jeff Grief, Editor of the online travel magazine: travelsquire.com

And also Ashley Coborn from “Takeoff with Ashley Colburn

The host of this event was Amy Swift from Smarty.  She was a fabulous host asking all of the right questions related to travel and social media, and everything in between.

The panel had differing views and really showcased the variety of travel, and how everyone has their own niche when it comes to travel.  It was a fun event with a wealth of information.

I truly enjoyed hearing the stories of each of them hearing how they came to be in their industry.  And of course, allowed me to start dreaming again =)
