I remember the first time I ever rode a horse. I was in Australia. Yes, I’m not kidding you. I was fortunate enough to go there when I was 17 on this huge student ambassador program. I traveled with about 30 other students and 4 chaperones, and we had homestays, and travelled around for 3 weeks. One of the best memories of my life.
And during this trip was the first time I ever rode a horse. We stayed at a ranch for 2 days, and on one of the days we all took a trail ride to a scenic overlook. I was NERVOUS. Horses are big creatures, and well, I have to admit I have a phobia of any animals that are bigger than me 😉
I loved how I felt riding the horse, but I also remember how sore I was the next day.
A few weeks ago a friend of mine invited me out to her friends horse stables. She was helping take care of a horse for a friend that week, and she wanted to see if I would take some pictures. Then this past Monday she invited me out again.
Horses are beautiful. They each have a personality all in their own, and they get excited. I love it the experience I’ve been given. Now I just want to share some of the fun pictures I took during these days:
This is Dakota =)
A moment that I thought was truly precious. Even horses have friends they want to say hello to =)
This is Red, a new addition to the horse stables. He fits in really well, and is one of the sweetest horses. Oh, and he was awfully curious about my camera 😉
There are kitties running around the horse stables. The horses do get curious about them and greet them even. This was a moment I couldn’t pass up. =)
I see teeth =) I was so happy when I saw this picture. It makes me laugh.
And my absolute favorite picture from last Monday. An action shot of them running around caught perfectly. Red and Big =)
It was a GREAT experience. I hope in the future to attend a couple of horse shows and even head down to the racing track to catch more horses in action. I hope you enjoyed these.
