Australian author: Vaughn Alaine-Marshall is a Reality-TV expert, and he wrote this book from behind the scenes of American Idol pulling experiences from past contestants, and writing a tell all book of what actually goes on behind the scenes at American Idol.
I have been a huge American Idol fan in my life, so when this book opportunity came my way I was really looking forward to reading it.
My thoughts: So many things happened in this book, and so many names have been changed, but you could really relate to who the characters were in each setting. HOWEVER: About halfway through the book I had to take a break because the story just didn’t appear all that believable to me.
I was a bit disappointed by this book and was expecting a lot more from it.
However, you follow along through the eyes of Veronica from her very first audition to her receiving the news that she made it through rehearsals to behind the scenes at Hollywood Parties to sound checks. You get a glimpse into the backstage of what happens behind closed doors at American Idol.
Perhaps, for me, it was because I just couldn’t connect to the character “Veronica” and she just didn’t have the “wow” factor for me. You know, American Idol always has their fan favorites, but in the end, I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I thought I would.
