Celebrate Easter with The Happy Egg Co. #sponsor

Posted by on March 21, 2013

Disclosure: I was provided with an Happy Egg Co. Easter Kit.

Easter is a little over a week away and one of my favorite traditions is dying eggs.  Time to get out those eggs and have a blast with them.

Happy Egg Co 007

Say hi to Frida!

Who is The Happy Egg Co?  Unlike other eggs on the market, Free Range eggs come from hens with daily access to:

*4 acres of pasture to roam among the trees, shade, sand pits, fresh air

*Large protective barn overnight, freedom to choose where to roost

*Clean water and feed

The Happy Egg Co. wants to help you with Easter this year by providing you with some tips:

1) White Eggs vs. Brown Eggs

When dying eggs you may think to pick up those white eggs, but the secret is to dye brown eggs such as from The Happy Egg Co.  The pigments in the brown shell help produce more jewel-like tones.  Because the Happy Egg Co. eggs are thicker they may need longer time to dye, and a longer soak in vinegar rinse prior to dying.

2) Go Natural

Colorful foods like carrots, blueberries, and coffee can be boiled in water to make an all natural dye.

3) Make Your Masterpiece Last

Turn one time use eggs into a decoration that can be used from  year to year by “blowing” them instead of hard-boiling.  To empty a raw egg begin by using the tip of a sharp utility knife to pierce both ends of the egg, turn the knife in one of the holes to widen it slightly.  Then, poke a straightened paper clip through the larger hole to pierce and “stir” the yolk.  Hold the egg, larger hole down, over a bowl, and then blow the contents out with a rubber ear syringe.

And now the fun part. The Happy Egg Co. wants to provide one of my readers with an Easter Dying Kit to help Celebrate Easter with you:

It’s like the Easter Bunny arriving right on your doorstep.  Kit includes a Paas dying Kit, Frida, an Easter Basket with Easter Grass and 3 Coupons for The Happy Egg Co. eggs.

As my 4 1/2 yr old neice puts it. It’s not just about the eggs and the bunny,it’s about Jesus you know. My sister said she yelled this out the front door to my 9 yr old neice’s friend. We’re a very Jesus loving family and she has no problem expressing herself. I can see her doing that, loudly. Lol!
I enjoy hiding the eggs for the kids and watching all the adults(my cousins) telling the kids if they’re hot or cold. Our whole family is there and we have a blast. Thank you for the great giveaway! 🙂
    Happy Easter 🙂
