It’s 2014. A fresh start. A new energy has entered our life and so much opportunity lays before us. I am addicted to the feeling that a New Year brings. Can you feel the possibilities.
But the first challenge I want to GIVE you is Social Media. Not just any social media, but one in particular.
You may be wondering why this one, of all the social media channels out there. And there’s very good reason as to why. Recently, there’s been a shared sentiment on twitter. That when you go on there, it’s become a walking advertisement. What does that mean exactly? Well, when you’re on twitter and you’re reading through your feed do you see that what you’re reading have been mostly links?
Do you remember the time when we were on twitter and we chatted with one another. We truly reached out to one another and had legitimate, honest conversations? It’s time to #BringtheChatBack. This phrase was introduced by Tiffany Romero, co-founder of the SITS Girls, and a brilliant woman.
Many of us have been using this hashtag to bring the conversation back to the twitterverse, and now I am challenging YOU to reflect on your social media account on twitter, and ask, how are you contributing to twitter? Interact with your followers.
I know we’re all busy, but perhaps if you spent one day a week reconnecting with your followers, as opposed, to just tweeting out links, twitter will come back to what it was meant to do. Bring the social back into social media. Are you UP for the challenge?
