With the new TV Series “Sleepy Hollow” coming out, and with Halloween right around the corner I soon googled “Sleepy Hollow” and found out, that there is indeed a place called “Sleepy Hollow” that resides in New York.

Upon further research I even discovered this little town tends to go all out for Halloween with a variety of activities:
Horseman’s Hollow 2013:

Returning for 2013, this fun event is 13 nights of haunted mayhem. The 17th century town of Philipsburg transcend into a landscape ruled by the undead, the evil, and the insane.
It all starts when visitors begin walking on a haunted trail stumbling upon scenes of a town driven mad by the headless horseman. Get ready to be scared as creatures, humans and who knows what else lurk in the woods ready to scare you with every step.
After the trail people are then thrown into a twisted maze of horrors and surprises ending with a party in the Headless Horseman’s honor.

2013 dates: October 5-6, 11-13, 18-20, 25-27. November 1-2.

The Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze:

This event is pretty spectacular in that you’ll be able to see over 5000 Jack O Lantern’s lit up during this fun event that takes place for 25 nights in October and early November.
Stroll through the tunnel of Pumpkin Love, see Jack in the Boxes, slithering ground snakes, a giant spider web and more.
And debuting this year at Blaze is none other than 20 artists creating works inspired by pumpkins, but not made from them coming from the Museum of Pumpkin Art.

Every Weekend beginning Oct. 5 and ending Nov. 11th.
The Irving’s Legend:
Jonathan Kruk, master storyteller, puts on the performance of “Legend of Sleepy Hollow” at the Old Dutch Church.
The show is recommended for ages 10+. Weekends beginning Oct. 5th through November 2nd.
Adults, $16; Children under 18, $12

Before you begin your evening of haunts, stories and fun, you may want to stop here to visit Irving’s home. You will walk through the architectural styles of the home which include objects from his beloved story.
The Haunted Hayride:
Be sure to take a ride on the hayride. The ride starts out on the streets of “Sleepy Hollow” but soon takes on a path all of it’s own… the same path that Ichabod Crane took as he fleed the Headless Horseman.
Before or after join in on the street party that takes place both dates.

Tickets: $25/person in advance, $30 at the gate. $15/person for students of Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown schools (bring ID). First come first served, arrive early.
They also provide cemetary tours throughout the month of October to partake in.
