Lush Cosmetics introduces FUN #spon

Lush Cosmetics in Santa Monica, right off of 3rd Street Promenade invited me out for a night of “Fun” at their #funfactory last Thursday evening.

They were introducing a new “Fun” product and also introducing their holiday lines for both Halloween and the holidays that followed after into their stores.

“Fun” is a great product designed specifically for bathtime, and a great product for kids.  This product looks like playdough, and you can even mold it like playdough, but it’s a soap in which you can wash your hands with it, wash your body, even your clothes.  A great new product sold specifically at Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics.  Fun comes in 5 different colors: yellow, green, blue, red, and pink.

Lush was also introducing their holiday collection.  From soaps (North Pole, Mr. Punch, Angels Delight, Snowcake, Snow Globe, and Northern Lights) to festive bath bombs (Father Christmas, Crackersnap, Party Popper, So White, Cinders, and Golden Wonder) to Bubble Bars (Rocket, Captain Bubblebeard, Santa’s Sack, Magic Wand, Candy Mountain, Christmas Eve) to shower gels (Ponche, Twilight, and Snow Fairy.) There was something for everyone.

A new favorite was their Popcorn Lip Scrub! Yes, popcorn flavored lip scrub.  Of course, once I put that on my mouth, I knew it’d be something I’d keep going back for.

But one thing that truly caught my eye were their beautiful gift sets laid throughout the store.  Fun products already thrown together for you in beautiful wrapped gifts.  There was a sample of what was inside near each package.

With the holiday season right around the corner they will have beautifully wrapped gifts ready to go for your every need.

And just a few other items you may just happen to find as you walk around Lush Fresh Homemade Cosmetics.

Their Halloween Line was also present which included the Twilight Shower Gel, JackO Bath Bomb (which is seen in the right hand corner) The Enchanter Bath Bomb, and the Green Calacas Shower Jelly which totally reminded me of green slime, but smelled ohsodelicious!

Lush Fresh Homemade Cosmetics has definitely become my new favorite #funfactory and has given me a few gift ideas for the holiday season up ahead.

Disclosure: I was invited out for a evening out with Lush Fresh Homemade Cosmetics to review their Fun product and their Holiday Lines.  I was give samples of “Fun” to take home with me.

Life is so precious.

As of yesterday I said I wasn’t going to write about death, and the incidences of the past week of learning how a fellow blogger had passed away.

But then this evening, after witnessing her ceremony, and then coming home, and hours later hearing about another death.  My mind is in a bit of a boggle right now.

I tend to not talk about the deep stuff around here.  I often times just want to keep my blog positive, happy, but sometimes things happen in life, and they just affect you.

Take Sidney Patrick, passed away at the age of 42.  She was so nice and welcoming to every person she met, and wanted to see everyone go someplace, and was supportive of others.  She was witty, sassy, and people found her funny… Well, because she was!

But at only 42, far too young to pass.  She made a lasting impression on my life, and one I will forever be thankful for.

And then the news I received tonight about a former colleague.  He was a person who had a great personality, friends with a ton of people, but yet, I learned, he passed away due to suicide.  This breaks my heart more than anything.

When life gets so tough, so down, I honestly believe suicide should not happen.  I don’t believe in it, and it breaks my heart when a person is so low they feel that’s their only hope of getting out of their situation, whatever may be going on in their life.  Things do turn around, things do get better.  There will be hard times for awhile, but it eventually fades away.

So, it goes along with the theme of the day: Take the time to listen to people.  Stop for a minute, and acknowledge those around you.  If a person posted something in your forums, they’re looking for an answer, take the time to talk to them, to answer them.  If a person tweets out to you on twitter, take the time to respond back, or if a person takes the time to call you, call them back.  You never know, at that moment in time, they could be the lowest of lows, but all of a sudden, one phone call may be just what they need to turn it all around.

We all have our stories.  We all have our many layers to us, and even today sitting in a room full of people I didn’t know sharing facets of ones life, it makes me realize how much we truly don’t know about the people around us, or their stories.  So listen, reach out, and be kind to those around you.  If we live without judgment our lives are so much better.  If we become selfless, even better.

But, for me, take the time to give out a hug, make a phone call, or connect with someone who you haven’t connected to in awhile because those people need to know what they mean to you.

Review: CSI: Miami Heat Wave #clevercsi #spon

A big thanks to UbiSoft and the Clever Girls Collective for this opportunity.  I have been selected as a UbiChamp for them, and will be reviewing games throughout the next year.  Please click here to learn more about UbiSoft.

Being apart of the UbiSoft Champs program I was asked to review the facebook game, “CSI: Miami Heat Wave.

I thought this game would be perfect for me because I have always loved those crime shows such as CSI, Law and Order, and Criminal Minds, so what fun in knowing that there was a facebook game out there where you could put yourself into the world of the Crime Scene Investigator:

For me, for whatever reason I really enjoy the process of searching for evidence.  As you walk around the different tiles trying to uncover the evidence from the crime scene.  This has been my favorite part of the game.  The other fun part is when it comes time to questioning the suspects.  It’s fun to see their reactions, and what they will say next.  And of course, when you are questioning the suspects you have 3 questions to choose from.  It’s great in testing out your skills to see if you’re asking the right questions.  The game will let you know if you’re on the right track or not.

When you first begin your game, you are taken on a trial run of a case where you are shown all the steps needed to complete your case.  You start by searching for evidence, processing the evidence, and then questioning possible suspects.  By the end of this process you have found your “who dunnit.”

Because this is a social game on facebook, you can enlist your friends to help you along the way with this mission.  They help by providing you with energy, vials that are needed to process evidence.  You help each other along the ways.  This is where I struggled in the game since a lot of my facebook friends don’t actually play many of the games anymore.

But I still had fun in the process.  I’m up to level 9 already and look forward to playing more in the future.
