Lets go to Washington DC

Posted by on November 30, 2011

From the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial, Washington DC has a lot to offer.  From the Smithsonian Museums to the Newseum, Washington DC has a lot to offer.  From the Ford Theater to the Wax Museum to the White House, Washington DC has a lot to Offer.  Lets go on a photographic journey.

The Top left corner is from the Lincoln Memorial overlooking the Reflecting pool towards the Washington Monument.  One of the most photographic places in the world (don’t quote me on this!)

The upper right corner is, of course, the Washington Monument.  And the Center picture is the US Capitol Building.  Which, in my opinion is a lot prettier building than the actual white house!

The left hand corner is my favorite picture of the Washington Monument I took.  The right hand corner is Abe Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial and the bottom picture is at the Veteran’s Memorial.

Washington DC is a beautiful place to visit, and it was one of my favorite memories.  I feel every American should get to the Nation’s capitol at least once in their lives.

This trip was very memorable for me because it was the first 4th of July weekend I had off in 13 years since I began working, and it was the first trip I ever took by myself, the summer after my divorce.  It was a very freeing and liberating experience for me.

And from this trip I learned that anything was possible!

My only piece of advice for anyone that goes to Washington DC is that make sure you are prepared to walk, and take the time to see as much as you can.  It’s truly worth it, and the city has so much to offer!  And if you get the chance to walk in some of the neighborhoods, do it.  There are some beautiful architectural design in the houses of Washington DC.

Happy Whimsical Wednesday!
