We all have our travel lists, our places we’d like to go in life. My only rule is that I’m keeping it in the US for right now, for if I think beyond that, the list will get far too big
As you may or may not know, I do have a goal to travel to all 50 states in my life. Unfortunately, I’ve only been to 22 thus far. Although, the other 28 states are on my list, there are a few places that stick out beyond the rest.
1) Seattle
For years now, I’ve wanted to visit Seattle. Since I first heard about the Music museum I’ve wanted to go and explore it. The idea that mountains and the ocean were so close together made for another reason, and the greenery that was around Seattle. And of course, walking along Pike Place where the historic Fish Video was made =)
2) Grand Canyon
Pictures just can’t capture the beauty that is the Grand Canyon so it is on my list of things to witness and see in life. Not only as it my dream to capture it, but it’s my dream to ingrain a memory of that majestic beauty.
3) Boston
To me, Boston is just another one of those cities that a person must see at least once in their lives. I’ve had friends visit it over and over again because they’ve loved it so much. Besides, I want to visit the bar where everyone knows your name
4) New York City
This city scares me, but in the same time, it captures me. To see the Statue of Liberty to the hustle and bustle of the city happening around me. The idea of New Year’s Eve in Times Square, as crowded as that may be, to the Rockefeller Center to FAO Schwartz. Okay, okay, I’ve seen far too many movies with New York in them
But it’s one of those cities that a person must see before they die.
5) YellowStone National Park, Yosemite National Park, Delani National Park
Nothing is more beautiful than being out in nature. The wild animals, the beautiful landscapes, and watching mother nature unfold into itself. Our national parks are truly beautiful.
6) Savannah, Georgia
It is my dream to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah, Georgia. I hear it is the place to celebrate that holiday. Plus the beauty of the East Coast, and the historical homes throughout Savannah.
7) Alaska
One day, somehow, I will visit Alaska. It’s my dream to do it through a cruise. But someone mentioned to me that you can only see so much when on a cruise. So I’m beginning to debate that strategy!
Hawaii
Hawaii is on my list, however, it’s not near the top. Perhaps it’s because I live in such a warm climate now, or perhaps it’s because I’ve never been much of a tropical girl. But one day, I have to experience it, and the blue, blue waters that surround the islands.
9) Nashville, Tennessee
Music capitol of the world. Something about this city shouts beauty to me. The truth is, I’m not even that big into country, but I’d like to visit this city.
10) Maine
I want to experience Maine during the fall. Those beautiful fall colors along that North Eastern corridor has always been a dream of mine, and to stay in Bed and Breakfasts along the way.
Gosh, this list was a lot harder to write than I realized. To pinpoint exactly why I wanted to visit these specific areas of the country, or to narrow it down to just 10 places. I stuck with the pretty big areas for now, but I will continue to explore all 50 states in greater detail. It just means I need to start doing my research
I am drawn to big cities, and places related to nature. I like the Mountains, but I also love the hustle and bustle of the cities. I love the great wide open, but love knowing there’s a store just down the road if I need it.
My ideal place to visit has a combination of both nature and city.

I just went to Times Square for New Years, and with all the saving up for ages: it was amazing. Worth the 9hr wait. I highly recommend it, but you have to realise, only the strong survive. Once you get into the pen of your choice, after waiting for a few hrs, you have to stay in there. You cannot leave to go to the toilet, to get a drink, to get food. Nothing. So you have to take food with you, dont drink to much, and prepare to wait for 9hrs. It is worth it if you can stick it out. Many people faded as the night went on, but everyone is friendly!
It does sound like one of those moments you have to experience once in your life. I did get to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Vegas one year. They close off the strip and keep you on the streets unless you have a hotel room key to get into the casino’s and hotels. You have to bring your own drinks, etc. But the fireworks going off on the rooftops of 5 to 6 different hotels was pretty spectacular.
wow – that sounds amazing
Great list! I wish you luck!
Do you have a list of yours somewhere? =)
Good luck and I hope your wishes will come true. I have quite a few of yours on my list too, however, I would love to visit New Orleans – Cajun Terrritory!
Yes,New Orleans. I have been there =) and loved walking along the French Quarter! Thanks for the future post idea
I loved New York!
When I was living west, I didn’t travel much… I was so close from Yellowstone National Park and Yosemite National Park… Now, I wish I had taken the time to visit a little bit
Good luck with your travel goals!
Moving out west took a bit of the travel bug out of me because everything is so new and fresh to me here. I’m beginning to get the travel itch again though. Now I have to move beyond LA and see what else is out there! =)
I have lived in New York and now live in Boston, so those are two off my list. =)
I love the rest of your list, though. I really want to go to Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon. Hope you get to go and take tons of pics while you’re there.
You know me Trianna, the camera will be right along side me
Dying to go to Seattle!! My Bux partner friends are down the block. One day… One sweet day…
Of course! You have to visit where Bux all started
Savannah is on my list as well. I love Seattle and I would move there just because of Pike Place…..amazing market.
Grand Canyon is breathtaking especially the helicopter ride over it….an adventure itself.
My hubby works on Oil Rigs up North and I am planning to take the boys to visit him this summer and drive up to Alaska together for few days. I just got excited all over again, lol.
