Entertainment Coupon Book

The first time I was introduced to the Entertainment Coupon Book was when I was 8 years old.  My dad had received one, and that year we made the use of that book.  Always looking for coupons as we went about our weekend visits.  We made the most of the year and had a lot of fun experiences in the process.

This year, since moving to my new home in Sonoma, there’s a lot of places out there to be discovered, and because of that, the Entertainment Coupon Book is a good investment.  Not only will it help me with discovering new local hangouts, but it’ll save me money in the process.

Coupon Savings

When I first received my book, I spent the entire night reading through the books and earmarking the coupons that really caught my eye.  It opened my eyes to local restaurants in the area, and also there were many coupons for some old favorites.  The book will be a nice travel companion this coming year.

Coupons

One of the things I loved about the coupons was not only the fact that they covered a ton of restaurants, but also local entertainment venues.  Whether we chose to go bowling or to the movies, or even spending the day as a tourist by taking a city tour, there was a little something for everyone.  The exploration in me came out as I flipped through the coupons.  I mentioned many times, “I want to do that, or we should do this” throughout the evening.

There were even coupons for local hotels, airlines, and car rental companies to make your travel life a little easier this upcoming year.

It’s the start of a New Year, and you minus well save money in the process.  You can purchase the 2014 Entertainment Coupon Book for as low as 20.14 a book.  You will get that back with the use with just a few coupons.  It’s a worthwhile investment.

Enter for a chance to Win a 100 Dollar Gift Card to Simons Malls Ends 1/20/2014!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Santa Rosa Plaza.

Since moving to Northern California I’ve been on the lookout for my shopping mecca.  Needless to say I found it right away with Santa Rosa Plaza.  I’d stop in there when I first transitioned here to get to know Santa Rosa a little bit better and to see if I could drive myself from Point A to Point B.

With some of my favorite stores right in the mall: Papaya, Forever 21, Wet Seal, Sears, Macy’s, Victoria’s Secret and many more, I felt extremely comfortable there right away.

Santa Rosa Plaza

During the holidays, the mall was a fun place to shop at looking for the latest gifts for family and friends.  Hickory Farms, See’s Candy, trust me, I was there, and I picked up a few goodies along the way.  Even with Santa visiting it was a fun place to shop and explore:

Charlie Brown

While doing your shopping keep your eyes peeled out for Charlie Brown.  He just may be dressed up for the occasion too.  He’s ready to shop too.

And with that being said.  Santa Rosa Plaza and myself have teamed up together to BRING YOU the chance to win a 100 Dollar Gift Card to Simon’s Malls.  Who wouldn’t love to win a shopping spree this time of the year?

Panna Cotta = Success!

For about the last month I have become completely obsessed with panna cotta.  Probably because I tried a bite at a local restaurant, realized how good it was, and been addicted ever since.

Last week, on my birthday, we ate at another restaurant where Panna Cotta was served for dessert, and I soon was asking, “how hard can this be to make at home?”

I soon did my research, ran across this recipe on All Recipes, and began trying it at home:

Panna Cotta

And it was a complete success.  I adapted the recipe above a bit.

Ingredients Needed:

1 Envelope Unflavored Gelatin

1/3 Cup Milk or Water

2 1/2 Cups Heavy Cream (I used Half & Half)

1/2 Cup Sugar

1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

1 Cup Water

For Jello Topping:

1 small box Orange Jello

1 Cup Cold Water

1 Cup Hot Water

1/2 Cup Ice Cubes

Directions:

In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream and sugar together.  Bring to a boil.   In another small bowl, combine unflavored gelatin and milk or water together.  Stir until gelatin is dissolved.  Combine this into the boiling cream for one minute.  Take off stove top and add in Vanilla Extract then pour into small glasses.  Refrigerate for 4 hours, if not, overnight.

3 Hours later begin making your jello.  Bring 1 Cup Water to a boil.  Add into Orange Gelatin.  Stir together for two minutes.  Add in cup of cold water and 1/2 Cup ice cubes.  Stir until ice cubes are completely melted.  Pour Jello on top of the Panna Cotta mixtures.  Refrigerate for at least 2 hours after this process, but recommend longer.

Then Garnish with features.  Often times people will place the glasses in hot water so the panna cotta pops out of the glass to showcase in a decorative manner.

Needless to say, I am hooked from this day forward and will be creating more Panna Cotta recipes down the road.  What I love about this recipe is that it’s as basic as they come and easily adaptable.  Add in different flavor extracts in place of the vanilla, add different jello toppings or even fruit compotes to create a fun and easy dessert.
