Meet Alli from Cupcake Diaries: Virtual Gift Exchange!

This year I’m doing something a little different.  A Virtual Gift Exchange except this time we’re sneaking around other blogs to learn about our candidate, and what they’ve been up to.  I like this idea a lot.

Gifts

For me, I simply got a pretty awesome person: Alli from Cupcake Diaries.  When I first found out she was who I got, I spent hours on her site just looking at her gorgeous recipes.  Anyone that knows me knows I love to bake, however, I am a messy baker too… so needless to say, through this process I also found a new blog to *stalk*  errr I mean read..

Anyways… if you love to bake, you will love Alli’s blog.  This holiday season she’s cover a lot of fun recipes such as:

Grinch Drinks

Cute Adorable Butter Nutter Snowmen

Christmas Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches

Rudolph Donuts

White Chocolate Crispies

and others… the best part is that her blog continues throughout the entire year… and her pictures are quite tasty to look at.  See, like I said, a completely new blog to read…

But that’s not all.  You can also follow her on

Facebook: Where you can drool her over tasty pictures…

Instagram: Where you can see what she’s up to and making in the process

Pinterest:  You know her boards will be completely drool worthy.

Twitter

Google+ :  Food Bloggers are some of the best to follow on Google+: Amazing Food Pics, do I need to say more?

Needless to say Alli, you’ve acquired a new fan and I will be reading along with you on your future posts.  I hope your audience continues to grow because you make some fabulous tasty treats that are appreciated.  =)

This was just one of the amazing bloggers part of the Virtual Gift Exchange…. to read others follow the linky below:

Personal Reflection

This time of the year gets to be hard.  Every year, about this time, it hits me, that I decided to move away from my family, and how much I truly miss them comes out.  The holidays bring that out.

For the most part, most days, I can keep my mind active and not dwell on this feeling for too long, but boom, it hits and the sadness can get pretty overwhelming.  This year has especially been hard because at the end of September we moved to Northern California.

I am incredibly grateful we have one set of family to be around, but I’m also finding, that this time around, with this move, is now that I have friends I miss deeply, but also activities I seem to be missing out on, and it’s hitting even harder this year.

So, for those back in Minnesota, if I don’t say it enough, I love and miss you dearly.

And for those in Los Angeles, I miss seeing you at events, sharing a laugh, or just chatting.  Lets make sure to reconnect in 2014 with phone calls down the road to keep the friendships going.

Ways I try to get through the holidays without my side of the family around is never easy, but some ways I try to distract myself include:

Sending Gifts Ahead of Time.

Making Phone Calls on the Actual Holiday.

Keeping myself Busy by exploring and discovering the latest Holiday event in town.

Treating myself, I tend to splurge on myself a bit this time of the year.  Anything that can help bring a smile to make things a bit more easier is worth it.

And also thinking about memories of the past.  Hold onto those memories.  They truly help a ton when not around those that you love and care for.

For those, like me, who may not be around family this time of the year know I am sending you a big virtual hug, a smile across the room, and know, that feeling sucks.

And for those that fortunate to have family around, cherish those moments, and enjoy the time.  And for those that may have family that drive you nuts, just remember, it’s only a few days then things will quiet down again.

Just needed to get a bit of this out… my personal reflection.

And gosh darnit, if you live in Northern California, send me a hello! I need some friends up here. stat! LOL

One Last “Stocking Stuffer” Idea!

Disclosure: I received product for review purposes.

This time of the year, there’s something about adding a little dazzle into your wardrobe, or even, dressing up for a night out. Whether you’re attending a fun ornament exchange with friends, the big holiday dinner with family, or the big night out for New Year’s Eve, there’s a reason to get all dolled up.

But with colder temperatures in the air, wearing that dress while staying warm can be a bit hard.  However, Kushyfoot, has come out with a line of tights that will help keep you warm and fashionable this winter season.  Pair with a favorite dress, whether all glammed out, or casual such as a sweater dress, they work with anything:

Tights

Kushyfoot also has foot less tights available for purchase for those that may want to wrap leg warmers or boots around their feet. These tights, leggings, and footless tights make for great stocking stuffers.  Add it to your list with last minute shopping.

Connect with Kushyfoot on Twitter, Facebook and learn more about their products on their site here.

Things I love about Kushyfoot:

Tights

Their tights are really comfortable.  Growing up not being a fan of tights I have begun to fall in love with them again.

They really do keep you warm.  Last week was a cold front, but once those tights were on, they really kept me warm with my dressy outfits.

There’s a little bit of shimmer in the tights which during this sparkly season, adds a ton to your outfits.

And last but not least, they inspire me to get creative with my outfits and embrace my femininity.  Have you tried out Kusyfoot products before?
