#ad: The Alternative to Braces #INVStraightTalk

When I was a child growing up I had too big of tonsils.  That meant, to help me with my breathing I would push my teeth forward.  In the end, it made me have buck teeth, and eventually, some orthodontic care which lead me to having braces.

Needless to say, throughout my childhood, other children had no problem making fun of me, and I grew very insecure about my teeth and my looks as a woman.  A big thank you to Invisalign for this sponsored post opportunity.

When I was about 11 or 12 the day came for those metal braces to come in.  I was excited, nervous, and worried about how they would look on me, but also, how they would feel.

And two years later they finally came off.  Having braces was hard.  The appointments of going in to the orthodontics to tighten the wires.  The soreness I felt from my braces on a daily basic to the worry of taking care of my teeth for when it came time to finally take those braces off.

If only then I had the option of Invisalign.  Adults and teens now have a modern choice for straightening their teeth. No more wires and brackets required – Invisalign is the clear alternative to metal braces that uses a series of virtually invisible and removable aligners that gradually move teeth over time. The benefits include no food restrictions, ability to easily maintain healthy dental brushing habits, minimal interference with sports or other activities, and teeth get straightened without most people knowing you are in treatment. Visit the Invisalign website for more information about the clear alternative to braces.

How awesome does all that sound?

Invisalign Aligners

The image showcased above is what the invisalign aligners look like.  They go directly into the mouth and stay there throughout the day.  They are removed during the times that you eat: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then put back in.

And yes, you also sleep with them.  They are worn roughly 20-22 hours out of the day.  And they do help in straightening teeth.

Lets showcase a before and after photo:

Before and After InvisalignCan you see the difference?

There are more than 2 million Invisalign cases in treatment or completed worldwide. From very simple to very challenging, Invisalign offers a full spectrum of clear straightening treatments for most types of orthodontic issues. Take the Invisalign Smile Assessment to find out if Invisalign is right for you or your child.

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Invisalign.  The story about my childhood and having braces is my own story and thoughts.

Pictures of Disney on Ice Treasure Trove #Ad

Last night I was invited out by Disney On Ice for an evening with of ice skating with our favorite Disney characters.  Disney on Ice Treasure Trove was the title of this season’s show.  This show will be performing in Long Beach through May 5th then the following week at Citizen Business Bank Arena.

Disney on Ice Treasure Trove takes us on an adventure of a scavenger hunt between all of the Disney Classics: Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Lion King, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, and The Frog Princess.

And many more characters join in throughout the show.  Enjoy the pictures below:

mickeyminnie60Of course, Mickey and Minnie Mouse had to join in on the fun.

When the Queen of Hearts arrived during the Alice in Wonderland set, the deck of cards did a little dance number.  It was pretty incredible to see in action.

peterpanEvery time I see Peter Pan I often forget how fond I am of this show.  And, Disney on Ice brought no exceptions.  The characters did great throughout this skit.  And it was neat to see how they brought the place they live to life.

Snow WhiteSnow White, being the first Disney film, had to, of course, be apart of the treasure hunt, right?

Disney sure believes in that “Happily Ever After.”

aladdinI almost forgot about Aladdin.  And it was neat seeing the Magic Carpet Ride in action:

And then, of course, my all time favorite princess: Ariel from The Little Mermaid:

There were surprises throughout the entire show.  But of course, I can’t give out all the secrets.  So make sure to purchase your tickets.  Disney on Ice Treasure Trove will be performing at Long Beach Arena through May 5th and Citizen Business Arena the following week.

The New #EnotecaLounge at Antonello’s Ristorante! #ad

A little over a week ago I was invited out to Antonello’s Ristorante in Costa Mesa for a “Girl’s Night Out” with OC Mom Blog.  They occasionally host events in and around the OC area.

That evening, we were out at Antonello’s Ristorante being introduced to their new Enoteca Lounge.  The restaurant, opened since 1979, recently went through a major renovation and brought in their new lounge area.

A very fun place to hang out, relax with friends, and enjoy some of the amazing appetizers they have available:

Antonello's 006A relaxing lounge area, right?  That evening they also had a jazz musician on hand performing.  And he was incredible.  There were even some locals that came in just to hear him and to cheer him on.

But Antonello’s Ristorante has got it going on with the food:

That evening was my first time trying Octopus.   The plate came out in a beautiful presentation.  I don’t think I’m a fan though.

pizzaThey had a variety of flatbread pizzas to choose from including a potato flavor flatbread.  The one above was my favorite though.

dessertBut the most beautiful presentation of the evening was the dessert plate.  How heavenly does that look?  It was hard not going back for seconds.

Have you been to Antonello’s Ristorante before?  If not, don’t you think it’s time you stop by?
