Am I a blogger?

After the blogs I’ve seen in the past 2 weeks, I’ve often wondered, “Am I a blogger?” I look at my little blog I put together on wordpress, which I’m utilizing the free template, and think, “boy, do I have a long way to go.”

But blogging to me is my place to go to, to write about what is happening around me.  To write about issues I face in life, concerns of the times, or fun events happening around town.  It is my place to come and write, and share with others if they choose to read it.

I have no niche that I fit into, nor do I want to classify myself to anything.  I love to write about anything.  Sure, I have certain themes I love to talk about more than anthing, and that usually involves fun festivals I heard about, or partook in, or a question I’m struggling about life.

But that’s me.  This is my blog, and my world I’m taking the time to share with you.  So, am I a blogger?  Yep.  I am.  Hope you enjoy the ride =)

Halloween Happenings!

You know, I’ve never been one that’s really gotten into Halloween.  But this year, I’m really feeling it.  It’s like something clicked inside me and said, “You must enjoy it this year.” Perhaps it’s because every where I turn something is being said about Halloween. There are a few events happening around Los Angeles, and I’m curious as to what to go to:

The Haunted Hayride being done at the Old LA Zoo.  I hear this is a ton of fun, and they put a lot of work into this, and although the cost sounds steep, it’s actually worth it.  Have any of you been? What were your thoughts on it?

Dias Los Muertos at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary; I also hear this is a GREAT event happening.  I’ve always wanted to partake in a Dias Los Muertose festival, and I hear the Hollywood Cemetary puts on a fabulous job of the event.

West Hollywood Halloween Street Faire; this is the event to go to on the night of Halloween.  Every gets dressed up and heads out to Santa Monica boulevard.  This puts me in panic mode as far as finding a place to park and a costume to wear though 😉

Queen Mary: I hear the Queen Mary has been putting on a haunted maze tour of the ship, and they do a pretty good job of it.

And then all of the Theme Parks dec all out for Halloween with festivals and fun.

Blogging!

WOW!

Alls I can truly say is wow.  I never knew how fluent the blogging community has become.  I really started my writing passion and desire about 4 months ago.  I dove right in, and within the last month have become witness to the twitter community, and more so recently, the blogging community.

It is HUGE!

There are so many talented writers out there that love to discuss their life, their tips on cooking, or tips on anything they have knowledge about.  They’re are give a ways, there are conferences, and there are many getting together to network.

I feel I have so much to learn.  I just want to give a shout out to this fabulous group of women I’ve recently found called @socalbloggers  It is a group of women coming together from Southern California to network, make friendships, and share their love of blogging with each other.  I look forward to learning so much from this group of women, and can’t wait to meet some of them.

Also, for those that do not know, there is a GREAT event happening tonight called the OC Blogger Bash, it is bringing together a variety of bloggers throughout Southern California for a night of fun and networking.  I wish I could be there, but can not wait to hear all the wonderful stories from the event!

As for what I am doing tonight, I will definitely be writing about it tomorrow so stay tuned! =)
