Attending BlogHer? Me too.

BlogHer 2014 is right around the corner and is coming to San Jose, CA in just a few short weeks (July 24th through 26th!) This is my first BlogHer and I am pretty dang excited. So, for those that are attending, if you see a girl running around looking like this:

Or this:

Jamie Gall

Please come say hi.  I’m actually kind of shy, but if someone approaches me first, it’s much easier on this shy girl.

A few fun facts about me:

I love WINE.  (I began my wine journey when I moved to California, so a lot of the wines I’m familiar with are Californian Origin right now, but seriously, lets chat about wine!)

I love to TRAVEL: and have a deep, deep, deep love of traveling around the US.  It is a serious goal of mine to travel to all 50 US States.  I’m about halfway there.

And I love food.  I like to call myself a wannabe foodie because I don’t know everything about food, but have a deep passion for learning and trying new things I may not have tried before, but an even bigger appreciation for Chefs.

And I am total Midwest girl at heart.  Sweet to the bone, Kind, and well, polite as all can be (I even hear it drives people nuts sometimes!)

So, if you’re headed to Blogher, drop me a line in the comments and hope we can connect and chat.  I also encourage you to write a post like this.

I'm Going to Selfiebration at the Expo!

Peach Pie Crumble

Disclosure: Post may include affiliate links.

Two things:

1) I’m obsessed with mini pies

2) It’s Peach Season.

I was struggling between making peach pie and a peach cobbler.  So instead, I decided to combine the two into a small mini pie. And lo and behold: The Peach Pie Crumble Peach-Pie-Crumble
Ingredients:

2 Peaches
2 Nectarines
1 Cup Oatmeal Oats
2 TBSP Brown Sugar
2 TBSP Sugar
Vanilla Ice Cream
Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Crusts

Directions: Create the bottom of your pie crust with the Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Crusts by layering the dough within your small pie pans. This Wilton Nonstick 6-Cavity Mini Pie Panis exactly what I have. Slice up your peaches and nectarines then place evenly into your pie dough.  Sprinkle with white sugar and let sit for 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes, cover with oatmeal and additional brown sugar. Bake in oven at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes until crust is golden brown. Layer your pies with Vanilla Ice Cream and a large peach or nectarine slice.  Then enjoy. Peach-Crumble

Make Camping Easy with these Products!

Disclosure: I received product on behalf of this post.  Sponsor is responsible for giveaway items.

campingThis past weekend my other half and I hit the road and went on a spontaneous overnight camping excursion in Lake County.  We’ve been wanting to camp for quite awhile so Saturday afternoon, we’re like, if we find a site, lets go.

So I made a few calls and we were off, after packing a total of 30 minutes.  We rolled up to our site and quickly set up the tent and then began to pull out our food and started snacking.

Cooking-over-campfireLike our little fish pan?  Let me tell you, this is the perfect pan for camping.  This pan comes from Gourmet Grillware, and it made cooking the burgers so easy.  We pulled out our burgers, and the pan and campfire did all of the work.  These pans are not dishwasher safe so make sure to hand wash these pans, and add a little bit of oil to the pans just before using.

Because of the indents on the pan, it even cooked the burgers nice and even making it really convenient.  I can see this pan working for eggs, pancakes, and many other camping food essentials.

That evening we decided to try a twist on the typical burger and created Bagel Burgers:

bagel-burgersIngredients:

Bagels

Mayonnaise

Hamburger

Tomatoes

Your Condiments

On campfire, cook up your burgers.  Spread mayonnaise on bagels, into the bagels then cook over campfire to toast the bagels.  Then once burgers and bagels are ready, add on your lettuce, tomatoes and condiments and enjoy your camping meal alongside the fire.
