Banana Boat Natural Reflect Sunscreen; 101 Days of Summer Play! #spon

Banana Boat with their latest suncreen, “Natural Reflect” have created a new campaign called, “101 Days of Summer Play.”  This campaign is great because it allows families to showcase their summer play while highlighting the importance of wearing sunscreen.

For starters, There is a PLEDGE, which can be found on their facebook page which is encouraging families to pledge that their kids will play outside everyday this summer.  With each pledge made, a bottle of “Natural Reflect” sunscreen will be donated to “Hole in the Wall Gang” camp, which is a camp that has children coping with cancer, and other serious illnesses.   For more information on the camp, check out their site here.

Are you running out of ideas to do with your kids and family this summer?  The Banana Boat facebook page will also offer a variety of activities to do this summer to keep your family outside, and having fun.

They also have a weekly photo competition where you can showcase your summer photos, and with each submission you have a chance of winning some great prizes.

Banana Boat “Natural Reflect” sunscreen is the first sunscreen of its kind in that it utilizes naturally sourced sunscreen actives that deflect the UVA and UVB rays.   The sunscreen is oxybenzone, PABA and paraben free and uses 100% naturally-sourced mineral sunscreen.

This sunscreen is also made for baby and children, and has been pediatrician tested.

They have three different varieties available including:

    • Natural Reflect Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+
    • Kids Natural Reflect Tear-Free Sting-Free Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+
    • Baby Natural Reflect Tear-Free Sting-Free Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+

I am fair skinned, and I know the importance of wearing sunscreen on a daily basis for any outdoor activities.  Since I’ve moved out to California, it has become even more important to me.  Areas I neglected in the past I can no longer neglect (feet, ears, hands, etc.)  So I love this new campaign that Banana Boat is doing to help having summer fun.

I know my summer fun is just beginning, and I make sure to bring sunscreen with me wherever I go.

Banana Boat provided me with a few sunscreen tips:

Before heading out, apply sunscreen a good 20-30 minutes before going out.  Typically you should apply a golf ball size portion of sunscreen to your skin prior to any outdoor activities.  And always make sure to reapply every two hours, after swimming, or sweating.

Disclosure: This is a sponsor post on behalf of Banana Boat “101Days of Summer Play” and “Banana Boat’s Natural Reflect Sunscreen.”  I’m showcasing the information because I believe in their campaign, and in their cause.

Biannual Blogathon Kicking Off!

The Biannual Blogathon kicked off this morning and runs through Monday morning.  I already feel so far behind as I had to work this morning.

When I ran across this bash, I was curious to learn more instantly.  72 hours where you commit yourself to your blog, putting the time into the things you’ve been putting off, or taking the time to learn about the things you want to know more about.

There are a variety of mini challenges including the one I’m running on my blog (found here.) (Where to find Blogger Support)

Some goals I have for myself this weekend include:

1) Participating in a couple of the mini-challenges, a few of the ones that pop out at me are:

How to Write a Better Tweet on Twitter

How to Write a Book Review; psst, my first book review is taking place on Monday ;0

Making a Blog Notebook  Instead of my gazillion little notes in all different notebooks, have one just designated for blogging

Do Follow vs No Follow

How to Guest Post

2) Starting a MeMe

I’ve been wanting to do this for a REALLY long time, and this weekend is my opportunity to think of it, and make it happen.  =)

3) Design a Blog Button

It’s time to make a design.

4) Send email Pitch Letters out

It’s time to research some brands I’d love to work with, and send some pitch letters out.

5) Design my Media Kit

This needs to happen! And the sooner I get it done, the better =)

So I have some hefty goals for myself this weekend, but for me, it’s now or never, right? =)

Let the blogging begin =)

If you’re interested in learning more about the Biannual Blogathon Bash, check out their website here

Hollywood Fringe Festival!

Psst. Want in on a secret?

I’m a total theater geek!  Okay, okay, I may not be able to name every performance.  I may never have worked behind the scenes at a performance.  I may not know the corect terminology all the time, but one thing I do know….

Is that I LOVE THE THEATER!

And June has officially become my all time favorite month of LA.  Not only because there are so many awesome people having birthdays this month, but because The Hollywood Fringe Festival takes place every year in June.

A two week period of theater performances happening in West Hollywood’s Theater Row.  Performances starting as early as 11am, and going all day until 1am.  Drink specials, karaoke nights, food trucks parked outside the theater, and so much more.  By the end of the two week period, hundreds of performances have happened.

And can you believe this is only the 3rd year of the Hollywood Fringe Festival? Each year it grows bigger and bigger.

The official Fringe Festival kicked off last Wednesday, June 13th with the opening night party, and continues through this Sunday, June 24th with the awards ceremony.

For more information check out there site at http://hollywoodfringe.org.

Oh, and for a good laugh (if you don’t mind adult raunchiness) be sure to check out the play “25 Plays Per Hour.” at Theatre Asylum.

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post, I just wanted to share my love of theater with the rest of you!
