When You Have a Broken Glass Mirror On Your Car!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Mirror Glass Plus.  All Opinions and Stories are my Own.

Broken-Glass-Mirror

When I first got my driver’s license and purchased my first car, a 1990 Ford Escort I went on many first time driving experiences.  I had that car for a good year before heading off to college, but of course, with a first car, there are a few dents that may come along the way. One such dent was when I did this to my passenger side mirror.  Of course, during the winter back in Minnesota when I pulled out the ice scraper.  I wasn’t paying attention and before I knew it, I dented the glass on my passenger side mirror.

After research, I discovered that to replace the mirror it could cost up to 300 dollars.  Considering I only paid 400 for my first vehicle, coughing up that kind of money just didn’t make sense to me so I left it unfixed before purchasing my next vehicle.

I don’t recommend leaving anything unfixed because it makes for unsafe driving conditions especially for a brand new driver on the road so when I heard about Mirror Glass Plus and what they provide, I was ecstatic.

mirror-glass-plussMirror Glass Plus sells replacement glass for all makes and models directly to consumers for about $30 and then shows you how to fix your own in less than 2 minutes with step by step videos offered to help you along the way.

You can order your glass one day and have it fulfilled within 24 hours getting you back on the road that much faster.  In our day in age, something not to be messed with.  The website is so easy to find EXACTLY what you’re looking for  just by entering the make and model of your vehicle.  The only thing you may need to do a little work with is knowing the exact dimensions of your mirror on your vehicle because vehicles may have several mirror sizes to choose from.

But the BEST PART about Mirror Glass Plus is how much money they save you.  When I looked up the dimensions for my 2005 Ford Focus mirrors I found there were two different mirror dimensions available so I’d have to measure the exact glass size to be sure, and the glass would only cost me 19.99.  Yes, 19.99.  I’d rather pay that than the 300 dollars that a dealership may charge you.  I know, for sure, I will be going to Mirror Glass Plus the next time I accidentally break a glass mirror on my car, and HOPE you will keep this information around for the time it may happen to you.

Tell me about a driving dent or ding that you’ve had or someone in your family had?  It’s story telling time.

For more information about Mirror Glass Plus be sure to check out their newly revamped website for tutorials, mirrors available for your vehicle and more.

Staying at Hotel de Anza

Disclosure: I was invited on a FAM Media Trip during a weekend in August.  All opinions are my own.

There are a lot of GREAT hotels to choose from when you are planning on your stay within Downtown San Jose.  Whether it’s for work or pleasure a great choice is none other than Hotel de Anza.  What makes this 4 diamond hotel distinct from many others in the area is its rich heritage within Downtown San Jose. Originally opened in 1931, during the depression, to be built as a first class hotel right in San Jose.

And over the years, the hotel has definitely kept its distinctive characteristics from the years its been around even when its been restored keeping their roots in history very apparent. The hotel has seen good times, and also bad times, including the 1970’s when the hotel was almost torn down, but fate set in to restore the property, and they re-emerged in 1990 when the lights turned on again for their re-opening.

Upon check in you are even given a fresh batch of cookies to take with you to your room.  After a long travel day, a little bit of sugar is almost what we all need, right?

A complimentary breakfast buffet is offered to guests of Hotel de Anza at the attached restaurant, “La Pastaia” which gives you an assortment of options from fruits to waffles to eggs and yogurt and pastries.  Bound to be something for everyone.

During the evenings, staff will knock on your door offering you turn down service, or if not in your room, you may come back to turn down service like I did.  Turn down service prepares the room and bed for nighttime often turning down the blinds, and setting the pillows with of course, two chocolate offerings too.

And one service that sets Hotel de Anza truly apart from any others is their “Raid their Pantry” service.  A room on the 2nd floor that offers late night goodies from fruits to cookies to toast to tea and more from the hours of 10pm to 5am.  If you’re like me, there’s dinner about 7pm then your nightly outing then by the time you get back to your hotel room you’re hungry again.  Raid Their Pantry is the perfect solution.  The evening I tried it out, people were in and out of the room throughout the 10 minutes I was in there.

If you get back to your hotel earlier in the evening you could always head to the Hedley Lounge, a fun bar area within the hotel that often offers live performances of music.  During our stay it was during the San Jose Jazz Summerfest so Friday and Saturday evenings, there was a jazz performance as we sat back to enjoy a drink:

The hotel has a great venue for hosting weddings too, and throughout our stay there were at least two weddings happening while we stayed there.

The rooms offer a comfortable bed, a large size bathroom, and a great view looking down Almaden Street depending on what room you stay in.  They also offer complimentary wi-fi along with a desk where you can sit at in your room to get work done, if needed.
