Life Just Got Better With Chevrolet #Chevy4G

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Chevrolet. The opinions and text are all mine. Comments submitted may be displayed on other websites owned by the sponsoring brand.

When I first found out that Chevrolet was coming out with built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi into their cars, I was ecstatic. I knew the time was coming, the question was when?

As a person that is constantly driving during her day job, and spends more time in her car than any other place throughout the week, the built in 4G-LTE Wi-Fi is a game changer. I’m thinking of those 10 minute breaks I give myself while at work, as I’m parked outside my next customer. In those moments, that Wi-Fi will truly come in handy. During those times where I check my emails, my social networks, and anything else I need to accomplish throughout the day.

But also during the weekends when my other half and I are discussing where to go for dinner or what movie to see, that Wi-Fi will be there helping us decide along the way. It’ll make accessing information through our tablets that much easier. The On-Star 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot provides a better in-vehicle experience than your smartphone. The stronger signal delivers a fast, reliable connection, and after initial set-up is automatically on every time you enter your vehicle.

And for those with children? Just think about the convenience of those road trips by having the Wi-Fi available. Movies on the go to fun games and more to entertain your children with.

The 4G LTE Wi-Fi is already available in the 2015 Impala and 2015 Malibu and is soon coming to these other vehicle models: 2015 Spark, 2015 Sonic, 2015 Cruze, 2015 Volt, 2015 SS, 2015 Corvette, 2015 Trax, 2015 Equinox, 2015 Tahoe, 2015 Suburban, 2015 Colorado, and the 2015 Silverado.

How will you use Wi-Fi in your vehicle? Please keep in mind that the Wi-Fi is made available for those drivers that have their vehicles parked, or for passengers in the vehicle. Chevrolet does not encourage distracted driving.

For more information about the built-in Wi-Fi and to learn more about Chevrolet Vehicles be sure to stop by their site.

Chevrolet is merging the physical freedom of the car with the virtual freedom of Wi-Fi to become the first and only car company to bring built in 4G LTE Wi-Fi to the largest vehicle line-up. Visit http://s.chevy.com/TBX to learn more.

Need to Know: Women’s HealthCare Screenings!

Disclosure: The opinions in this article are my own. I do not work for, or with, any brand mentioned in this article, nor do

I have any official relationship with them.  I have a relationship with GigaSavvy, for whom I create original editorial content.

Womens-Healthcare-Screenings

I’ve reached that age in my life where Healthcare is front and center, where, it can’t be avoided.  It also means I need to also research the proper HealthCare Screenings needed to take on a yearly basis, or every few years to catch conditions I may be having before its too late.  My mom always TAUGHT me the importance of these screenings and was always a great influence on keeping me motivated to go.  Thanks to Molina HealthCare, I was able to get GREAT information about the screenings needed in my life, and how often I should be getting them and thought it’d be VALUABLE information to share with all of you:

Screenings help find a condition before you have symptoms, and exactly WHY they are so important.

Breast Cancer Screenings:

Women 50 to 74 years of age should have biennial breast cancer screenings (or mammography). The decision to begin breast screenings earlier than age 50 should be decided by you and you provider. Women should also have breast exams done by their provider annually as well as regular self-exams at home. Breast cancer screenings can catch early signs of breast cancer to begin early treatment.

I’m at that age where I’m really beginning to hear of more and more women getting Breast Cancer, and this is something YOU can’t avoid.  Being one of the leading causes of death in women, and why we should always be proactive when it comes to our health.

Cervical Cancer Screenings:

The Pap test is a simple test that checks for changes in the cervix. If detected early, chances of curing cervical cancer is very high. Cervical cancer screening (Pap test) and pelvic exam are encouraged for women between 21 to 65 years old every three years for Pap test who are sexually active and have a cervix. For women between the ages of 30 and 65 years old who want to lengthen the screening time, a Pap test every 5 years when combined with HPV testing.

Although these screenings aren’t always the most fun, I know, from many friends, that it has detected things that have helped lead to future testing.  These screenings are there to keep us on tract with our health.

Chlamydia and Other Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs):

Women aged 25 years old and younger should be tested for Chlamydia and other STIs in they are sexually active. Women aged 25 years and older should be tested who have a new sex partner or multiple sex partners. STIs can cause other health problems, make it hard to get pregnant and may affect your baby. Sexually active women should be tested for chlamydia and STIs with each health exam. Speak with your provider if you think you should be tested or treated for chlamydia or any other STI.

Colorectal Cancer Screenings:

Women 50 to 75 years of age should be tested for colorectal cancer. If caught early, it is often treatable. There are several tests that can detect this cancer.  The most common test known to many people is a colonoscopy.

With this one, I personally know the affects of Colon Cancer, and having seeing firsthand the effects due to my grandmother.  And will be proactive with this test when I reach the age of 50.

Dental Exams:
Every six months, schedule (and keep) your routine dental exam and cleaning appointment. Brush your teeth at least twice daily, preferably after every meal. Floss at least once per day.

Bone Density Test:

A bone density test determines whether you have osteoporosis or are at risk of osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a disease that causes bones to become more fragile and more likely to break. A bone density test makes it possible to know your risk of breaking bones before it happens to you. A bone density test is recommended for women 65 years of age and older and for younger women at equal or greater risk for the disease. Talk to your provider about when and how often you should have a bone density test. The screening information was provided on behalf of Molina Healthcare. Molina HealthCare Clinics are found throughout the country (over 20).  To find a doctor near you be sure to stop by their site for more information.

California Wine Month begins this Weekend! Part 1: Northern California

Since moving to California, September has fast become my all time favorite month.  It’s no surprise considering it’s “California Wine Month,” and California loves to pull out all the stops for this one. Be prepared.  This will be a 3 Day Series that will encompass all of the fun events to partake in during the month of September.

This first part will focus on Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Lake Counties, and the Bay Area events and activities.

Grape-HarvestGrapes at Truchard Vineyards & Winery

This September marks the 10th consecutive year that California’s Governor has proclaimed September California Wine Month.  “We appreciate the recognition of the wine industry’s contributions to our state’s economy, culture and lifestyle by Governor Brown,” said Robert P. (Bobby) Koch, President and CEO of Wine Institute, which created California Wine Month a decade ago.  “As the leading wine and food destination in the U.S., we look forward to sharing California’s excellent wines and innovative cuisine with both our neighbors at home and visitors from around the world.”

Throughout the month, festivals, events, exclusive opportunities with winemakers, and much more will be happening throughout the various California Wine Regions.  Here’s a list of some GREAT activities happening throughout all of California Wine Regions, and hope you find some time to stop into a favorite winery or wine place to experience some of the fun.

Sonoma:

Lets start with where I reside for this fun month that truly begins to kick off this upcoming weekend, August 29th through 31st during “Wine Country Weekened.” As Sonoma County’s largest Charity Event, it brings together over 200 winemakers and growers along with some of the best chefs together to raise money for great causes to Sonoma County from students, children, farm workers, and people in need over 3 decadent days of wine, food and fun.

Some of the highlights include:

Friday evening: Sonoma Starlight at Francis Ford Coppola Winery: 6:30 to 10pm

Join us for an evening of wine, dinner, and music under the stars at Sonoma Starlight. Kick off your Sonoma Wine Country Weekend poolside at the iconic Francis Ford Coppola Winery for an unforgettable evening of world-class wines, delicious cuisine, live music, and dancing — all set against a backdrop of shimmering stars in the Alexander Valley.

Toast the start of Sonoma Wine Country Weekend at the Gloria Ferrer sparkling wine reception as you enter. Next, enjoy a bountiful array of local, seasonal cuisine poolside created by Sondra Bernstein and John Toulze, proprietors of the girl & the fig. Over 25 local wineries will be on hand to share their finest Sonoma County wines, creating infinite opportunities to create your own perfect pairings al fresco.

Tickets: 125 Dollars (General Admission)

Saturday: Taste of Sonoma: MacMurray Estate Vineyards: 11am to 4pm

Immerse yourself in the food and wine culture of Sonoma County at Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Estate Vineyards. Kate MacMurray invites you to enjoy an afternoon of strolling through the historic MacMurray Estate Vineyards property while sipping and savoring the very best of Sonoma County’s rich wines and delectable cuisine. With more than 200 wineries pouring thousands of wines, and over 60 local chefs whipping up divine pairings, Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Estate.

Tickets: 165 Dollars

Visa Signature Cardholders: 135 Dollars

Grand Reserve Tickets are officially sold out for this event.

Sunday: Sonoma Wine Auction: Chateau St. Jean

The final afternoon of Sonoma Wine Country Weekend is, in fact, the starting point for an unforgettable journey. And this year is going to be wild, as the Grand Lawn of Chateau St. Jean will be transformed into the plains of Africa.  Although the event is sold out you can still make purchases on the Auction Lots online through absentee bids.

A full list of what’s up for Auction can be seen here.
