And I was honestly surprised.  Of course, one of the first sections I checked out while shopping that evening was the wine section.  I’m always looking for new and affordable wines to check out.  One of the first things you’ll notice about the Grocery Outlet Wine Selection is how big of a selection it is, and how it’s spread out with Reds on one side and Whites on another. wine-selection But… under closer inspection, it was truly the prices that shocked me: affordable-wines First Vine: 2.99 Zombie Zin: 7.99 Procrastinate: 3.99 Yes, bottles of wine for under 10 dollars a bottle.  For someone who’s just beginning to explore their wine tastes, Grocery Outlet is your solution. It’s National Moscato Day: Partake with these Recipes!

Oh, sweet, sweet Moscato.  One of my favorite wines to sit back, sip, and enjoy especially during a hot summer’s day.

And lo and behold, it’s National Moscato Day!  A good way to celebrate I thought was to share a few of my favorite drink recipes with one of my favorite wines.  I always recommend this wine to people that are new to wine tasting, and exploring.

And the results are usually always pleasant.  Because of the sweetness of Moscato, it is very adaptable for some fun cocktails:

watermelon-cooler

Ingredients:

2 Watermelon Slices

1/2 Lime

1/4 Cup Moscato

1 Scoop Vanilla Ice Cream

Blend all ingredients together, garnish with watermelon then enjoy.

moscato-pops

One of my favorite summer treats is to create “Moscato Pops.”  Grab your favorite juices and blend with Moscato and you have yourself a popsicle to enjoy on those hot days.

For the one above:

Ingredients:

1/4 Cup Moscato

2 Scoops Vanilla Ice Cream

1 Can Kern’s Strawberry Juice

Blend together, pour into popsicle molds and let freeze overnight.  Then enjoy!

Mimosa Sunrise Smoothie

But, as of late, my all time favorite creation is the “Mimosa Sunrise” Smoothie.

Ingredients:

2 Scoops Vanilla Ice Cream

2 to 3 Strawberries, cut up

1/4 Cup Orange Juice

1/4 Cup Moscato Wine

Blend together then pour into fun glasses, garnish with a strawberry then enjoy!

Strawberry Wine

Or, just be traditional, pour yourself a glass of Moscato Wine and plop a Strawberry in it creating your own Moscato Sparkler.

Hope you enjoyed these fun drinks and it’s inspired you to Celebrate National Moscato Day!
