Envolve Winery!

Posted by on August 8, 2012

My friend Erin over at Horsing Around in LA sent me this notice when I flew off to Sonoma, CA.  At the time, I had no idea if I’d be making an appearance at Envolve Winery, but I made sure to keep an eye out for it.

Envolve Winery has made some pretty big headlines as Bachelor Ben is co-owner in this operation with his longtime childhood friend Mike.  They eventually added in another partner by the name of Danny, and the three of them took to their passions of wine as they continued to grow their line of Envolve.

Their tasting room right off of the Sonoma Square plaza opened up on the 4th of July weekend, and it was my last stop on my day of winery visits.  From the drive to the plaze from the other wineries I had a bit of time to sober up, and as I browsed around the shops through Sonoma Square, we finally settled into Envolve winery where I tried out one of their flights.

Entrance to the Tasting Room

The epilogue flight was a flight of 3 tasting Envolve Wines.  The cost of the flight was just 5 dollars.

Because of my love of white wines, and the talk around town about the Sauvignon Blanc I decided to give it a go.  I also did try one of their reds, and that was the second red I truly enjoyed for myself that day.  I went into my wine tasting day not having one red I enjoyed on my list, so the day was truly a success.  Now, if I could only remember what red I tasted over at Envolve ;)

For more information on the options they have available at their tasting room location in Sonoma, please check it out here.

Have you tried Envolve wine before? What were your thoughts? I’d love to hear your take.  And Congratulations guys on your grand opening of the tasting room.  I wish you continue success!

This was my last stop on my journey in wine country.  It kind of makes me sad to end this series as I feel a void filling inside me.  I hope to make it down to Temecula, and up to Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo area in the future.  If you recommend any wineries please tell me in the comments, and I will make sure to take a visit, and share my thoughts here with you.  =)

Have you been to the San Antonio Winery in Downtown LA? It’s a pretty cool place.

I haven’t yet. I keep thinking, “oh, it’s right in LA, I can visit anytime then I never do.” lol

I haven’t tried their wines, but I do enjoy a glass of white wine now and then.

    Hi Jamie,

I enjoyed reading about your adventure.

Having watched the Bachelorette and Bachelor, rooting for Ben both seasons, I just had to taste the wines. We met the guys, Ben, Mike, and Danny last February at a Valentine’s Day tasting party in Sonoma while Ben’s season was still airing. Of course, we had no idea of the “Bachelor” outcome.

We tasted the wines, and were amazingly surprised and impressed. We have since gotten to know the guys, and their families. I honestly have to say that there isn’t a nicer group of young business owners, and we have become great fans! Mike Benziger, is of the Benziger Winery family. The guys have great support and mentorship, and their wines show it. Personally, I am a huge fan of their amazing Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, which earned a GOLD – 2013 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

One year ago on July 4th, Envolve opened their beautiful tasting room in the Sonoma Plaza. It is located in the beautiful little town of Sonoma, in the main square. Tourists and residents alike stroll the lovely square, tasting wines at several wineries, admiring art in the galleries, eating (often outside) in the various cafes, or enjoying an ice cream cone.

The Sonoma country side rivals anywhere in the world for its beauty. Sonoma County is a definite “bucket list” destination!

    Cheers!

Thank you so much for stopping by to read the post… a huge thing I love about wineries and tasting rooms, period, is there’s a story. And hearing that story in how people have turned it into a dream… and a huge reason why wine is so fun.

It’s also why it’s so fun to share those stories as a blogger too.. I have a feeling I will be visiting Envolve a lot when I get to Sonoma =)
