Thoughts for the Road..

Go outside your comfort zone, because when you do, beautiful things truly can happen, and that’s when you tend to grow yourself.

The stars are beautiful, and we often try to reach for them, but keep in mine, very few actually get to be among them, so start with baby steps, and remember to stop to enjoy the journey as it happens.

When the wind blows, it easily can carry us with it.  But never forget to ask this, am I doing this for myself, or am I getting carried into someone elses desire and passions?

People love being around happy and positive people.  There is an energy that is given out.  Ask yourself, what is it going to take to make sure I’m giving off positive energy around others?

And last but not least, when the going gets tough, and you’re finding it hard to get through each day, remember there is at least someone out there that truly cares about you.  It might be the last person you expect, but just remember, to someone you are the world.

West Hollywood Halloween Carnival!

This was my first Halloween partaking since moving to Los Angeles, and I attended the biggest street faire around.  It was a blast seeing all of the costumes and taking pictures.  Some people were sooo creative!  Now I must share some of my favorites from the night =)

Okay, it might not be a costume, but anyone with a snake is going to stop me in my tracks.  Just so you know I’m petrified of them.  I could not touch one or even come close to holding one for the life of me, but I must say I was pretty enthralled with watching that little guy move around.

I absolutely loved her costume! The metallic really stood out, and it was an amazing costume.  She has to be mentioned!

If anyone is afraid of clowns, stay away from this guy.  He went all out.  Rolling around on his wheels, and accompanying with his clown friends, he was a sight to see.  Once the lights went out, he even lit up.  Quite impressive!

This guy brought his Best Costume Evah Frame with him throughout the night and posed in a variety of pictures with people’s costumes.  I must say it was a brilliant idea!  It made for some great poses.

And this was the best Marilyn costume I saw throughout the night.  I want to give her mad props.

It was great seeing some of the couple outfits throughout the night.  I love this scarecrow couple.  They made the outfits look great, and also showed me it’s okay to be original.  They were the only scarecrows I saw throughout the entire night!

For me, this was the best costume of the night!  I loved watching all of the SAW movies, and when I saw him/her riding around on the tricycle, I had to take a picture.  Of course, it made me think of the movies and how much I want to watch them all over again.  So, you are my best costume winner for the evening!

And well, of course, I can’t forget my own costume.  This was the first Halloween I dressed up for in years.  I tried to be a pirate.  It was a very unique pirate costume, almost English laden style, but I’m glad I did it.  I think this will be the first of many years of dressing up for Halloween. I was reminded about how fun it can be, and of course, how truly creative people can be.  Next year, I must put a little more thought into the costume.  Who knows what I’ll come up with.

And I almost forgot about this!

There were 2 fathers with their daughters.  The daughters dressed as smurfette and then the fathers as Papa Smurf.  It was pretty creative, and super cute.

Rooftop Bars and Hotels.

HOtel Rooftop bars! I knew they existed, just never partook until I got to Los Angeles.  Since I’ve been introduced to 2 wonderful Hotel Rooftop bars.

1) Hotel Erwin in Venice

This wonderful hotel and rooftop bar is a few blocks from the Venice boardwalk, but close enough to watch a gorgeous sunset go down into the water.  A perfect night out, and a fun atmosphere.  You won’t be disappointed.

2) The Standard in Downtown Los Angeles

With that gorgeous downtown landscape scenery as you sip on your beer, wine, or coca cola, this is the place to be.  Although, they often times have a very strict dress code, and look down upon cameras, you have to at least visit this rooftop bar once in your Los Angeles life.  Swim on their rooftop pool, lay in one of their cozy ipods, or sit close to the fire.  They have it all.

Two of my favorite rooftop bars in this wonderful city called Los Angeles.  If you have a rooftop bar favorite, let me know!
